Explanatory memo

The posts from below to the end of the July column are from our 'BigDog' trip to Denver and Texas in May/June 2009, and actually unfold from bottom to top of the column of photos. It doesn't make all that much difference except to the sense of some of the headers! (and maybe to the people in the photos..)
